so yeah. it's sunday. time for my traditional post. Pepe came up today. we went to find me a mahmoud ahmedinejad tan suit. i found one i think i'll get. has anyone disovered why the value village smells like vomit but the goodwill smells just fine? if you know let me in on it. Alison, i'm looking in your direction. so anyway. plop. next week is another RPIW... i'm not a team lead. so i'm going to have a less stressful time. however tomorrow we're gonna go over the training for the day and i'll have to get there a little early. next thing: i just had a thought. when a culture borrows a word into their lexicon how do they decide when to give it a new sound based on a meaning or to bring the same sound from the originating language into their own and assign that new meading. for instance: in Japanese they have words that come from other languages which sound like the word sounds in another language, perhaps in Japan that's just for the ease of foreigners. in Chinese there are times when they use the meaning to make the new word for instance dianying is a movie/motion picture, the words literally translate to "electric shadows" but with names of things and a few others they might take the sounds or approximations and make them mean what the word woul mean in another language.. like jia na da for Canada. hmm.. maybe it's just that.. names. plant names... people names.. well.. maybe other languages.. Chinese is a very old language, and they like to put those pieces together like with movies.. anyway. i'll just go to sleep now.
