um... my neck hurts. my head has been forward all the time, and it's becoming very uncomfortable. i want to tape a metal rod from my back to my head and hold it all up straight.. but that probably wouldn't make me feel less irritable. we watched a movie last night, the brothers grimm.. i dont' know what everyone was complaining about. it was just fine.. i think some people don't like terry gilliam just for the sake of it.. and when he has a movie that comes out they cry about it. twelve monkeys was good. the adventures of baron munchausen... also good (when you're a kid). i think critics just hate him. so f you critics.. you're no smarter than the sheep who listen to you. and be quiet sheep, who quote the critics.. we all know you don't have the ability to think for yourself.. this is why we believe the things politicians say... we need another popular government conspiracy show to sweep the nation and breed some healthy democratic mistrust in the government.. it's just not government by the people without that total lack of faith in anyone who would rule you. do you trust anyone who wants to tell you everything you can and can't do when you meet them on the street? probably not. so why would you trust anyone who was seeking public office? i mean the act of seeking the office itself is enough to exclude someone from high esteem in my book. but i ramble. everyone should forget everything they've ever been told to say about terry gilliam movies and watch some..
that's what i think.
that's what i think.

"just fine" isn't exactly a glowing review from yourself either. :-)
I read a few critics' take on the movie and none of them thought the movie was bad outright, they were just not all that impressed by it. When you get enough people just shrugging their shoulders when they are asked their opinion about a movie it isn't likely to do well (that's been the opinion of the few people I know who have seen the movie and of the critics).
I still plan on seeing the movie though cuz I love Terry Gilliam movies, but I'll probably end up just thinking it was "just fine" for that same reason.
You and your roundabout rhetoric. It makes my day. My 17th/18th century lit prof -- the one I love -- said today:
"The most dangerous rhetorian is the one who you don't think is using rhetoric."
He was talking about Thomas Paine and I happen to like Thomas Paine and I think he does too. But Thomas Paine is a sneaky rhetorian... he goes on and on about how America is better off not being a part of England and then suddenly he throws an emotional curveball: "Why does England try to harm us? Even brutes don't eat their young..." Good one, Tommy!
Anyway, I wanted to say that I wrote a little poem and posted it in our little blog. Remember our bluppie? I know you'll love it and you should comment and tell me so :)
btw, I've also been updating the Shantastic blog, so take a look when you get a chance. You could even leave a comment about the awkward questions or the argument Ben and I had.
