it's saturday morning. i'm watching cartoons. but it's season 7 of the simpsons. This particular episode is the 138th episode spectacular. Mwabwetumba. not enough people have that name, or maybe there is a very large family with that name but i don't know them, or they're very far away and ver private, so as not to appear on tv. perhaps they aren't private at all, but people ust don't want to say their name. anyway, happy Hogmanay everyone.

anniversary
yesterday was the 29th and therefor it was our 5th anniversary. we had a very quiet dinner and a movie.. the most romantic movie of all time: that family guy movie that went straight to dvd, stewie the untold story.. or whatever. i have to say it was pretty good, but cat fell asleep during some of the special features and seems to have hurt her back. we had some tasty dinner, that even included salad. big doins.
it was a very nice evening, wiht more celebration today, we're having dinner at the restaurant we ate at the night after we got married, wild ginger, the night after our anniversary. heheh. so that will be awesome, and all thanks to Cat's dad (because neither Cat or I would be so thoughtful)... anyhoo.. i probably won't feel like posting until new years day or something. i have to clean this GD house for saturday.. it's unacceptable. grumble.. time for work.. long day of work....

courtness
First of all, i'd like to thank everyone for an awesome xmas.
Go You all!
Second, We estimated our taxes and it looks like we might actually have very minor amounts to pay this year.. in contrast with our knock-down 1K bill last year.
Thirdly, I went to mitigate my ticket today, at le courthouse d'Everett. I left work at 9:45 to get to the courthouse because i was afraid of being late, and being penalized for that, and i know that it always takes a little time to find a courtroom.. i was correct on that point, it was not intuitive, and i set off the metal detectors with my steel-toed boots i generally wear.
-note to all of you who will be making an appearance at a courthouse *do not wear steel-toed boots, if at all possible*
So i wandered around in teh building, discovering i was in the wrong building, and arriving finally at the place i needed to be just 3 minutes before the thing was about to start. i went into the empty hearing room and sat patiently in the back. people filed in as they arrived, and all but two people on the list were there by 10:32. one guy arrived about 8 minutes late and another about 25 minutes late.
one might think that was a big deal, but one would be wrong.
the stenographer arrived at 10:37 and took a quick roll, i was reassured i was in the right place. she said that we have a few minutes to wait because the judge had a busy jail calendar. I don't konw what that means. but apparently he was very busy.
we waited and waited. the stenographer busied herself with some kind of pre-work and came and went and again. finally she came back with a judge, who announced that he was very sorry for the delay, but he would fill in and get things going. it was now 11:15. he sat down and started describing how the deferrals work, which i wish i was able to have gotten, but no. and just as he finished the story another judge came in, and finished his sentence. this judge said he'd take over, and they laughed about it. they changed seats, and the new judge said he'd get right to it. he was really nice and all, giving everyone decent reductions of penalties. as appropriate. you know. anyway. i got lost again trying to find my car. but someone helped me find it, i think i got lost because i didn't find my way in in the first place, because i was afraid of being late. anyway. awesome.
day over.

kreblachle
grumble again. this week is already very hard. maybe if i just go to sleep i'll wake up and it'll be our anniversary. slumpadump. that's what i want today. then it'll be january. that's gonna be fun at work. for a month. one crazy month followed by another crazy month. i wonder if i'll disappear off the face of the internet for the whole month.. probably not.. but so busy. ok i have to sleep now. goodnight.

schlumble
i sawr a book today that was called 'god rest ye grumpy gentlemen' ... it made me happy because at the time i was grumpy. something about humbug and all the whatnot that frustrates people around this time of year. I think the reason that i like the other holidays better than xmas is the expectations about xmas.. expectations about where to be, with whom, what to have brought, and so on.. holidays are cool in my mind when they are simply about being together.. that's why i like t-giving so much.. i'm thinking it's time to go to sleep. and be less grumpy. i suppose i'd be happier about xmas if i had 11 days off from work like back when i was in school. talk about awesome.. when you have to work right up until the day it kind of takes the anticipation out of it.. becuase you're crazy busy all that way.

scaley paws
Today i arrived home and went toward the bathroom (naturally) and upon getting settled in i noticed that imprinted on the scale was 4 little cat paw prints. i looked closer and realized the prints were dust. from their litter. which is gross, per se, however, if you picture a scenario where the cats are like weight obsessed people who weigh before and after relieving themselves to see the change (or like many of you you're just so impressed with what you think you're about to do you want to give it a solid metric to add some oomph to the story upon retelling)... anyway.. in that sense, it's very cute. to have those kinds of cats.
grumples.
my stomach hurts this morning. in a fluttery spastic i-ate-too-much-chinese-food-that-was-a-little-too-spicy kind of way. i can't stay home because Cat says so. really it's just because she wouldn't want to drive herself to work. well.. i don't know. but that's what it seems like.

why not
second post of the day? unheard of.
meh. So i'm eating Ma Bo DouFu. awesome! we went to talk to Dr. Martin about subletting my space during the days when i've got no intention of occupying it. she thought it was an excellent idea and also suggested i put together a protocol for treating over-eating and cigarette addiction, to make part of a package, which i like the idea of. frankly. I could line up a nice saturday early morning or a wednesday evening from like 3:30 to 7 or something and do 15 minutes additions to the piece Dr. Martin does. i like it. oh yeah, so we went to get chinese food. new peking was close, and is awesome. so we went there, and i gots us the food we's eating. i'm pretty satisfied.
Good day.

I don't have much time.
I have to make Cat's lunch because we're trying to get out of the house in 30 minutes from when we got up (5:45) and it's 6:11.
Anyway.. i was reading about the race riots in Australia.. that's such a sad and strange story. if no one has heard about it yet, go look it up. i don't watch any news so i don't know if they've covered it. I hope they did. it's not like they don't have access to it. but yeah. read it. i have to go now.

WOOOBah! Cat made that little tab icon thing that fancy-pants sites have for my blog. you'll notice perhaps a little orange 'b' .. it's totally awesome.
So yesterday i got a new game.. which my computer is not quite beefy enough to play.. well, beefy enought to play, but i can't see some of the tiles.. it le sucks. so i'm trying to figure out what to do. maybe i'll get a new laptop.. Cat doesn't approve of getting a desktop.. but i was thinking i could make a case for that perhaps because they're so cheap lately. and upgradable. anyway.
this new template is awesome.
there are too many hellraiser movies.

somblesoble
burgle borgle. i was just reading the referring links to my blog.. i encountered something funny. it was a blog from early in 05. a very conservative blog. very conservative. all about how liberals are lying idiots. naturally. and how they don't care about the facts, therefor every accusation made of cheney, libby, rove and bush were just more proof that liberals make no sense whatsoever. who is laughing now ... that was not a rhetorical question.
one thing i have to say: i know plenty of conservatives who i give credit for making informed intelligent decisions. plenty. enough that i wont' say that this blog i found was representative of conservatives everywhere. so remember i'mnot talking about any of the folks i know when i say that the comments on that blog were mighty childish. which leads me to the disturbing conclusion that there is a generation of very vocal young conservatives who have very limited power behind their arguments. i want to know what created that group.. are they reacting to a generation of predominately liberal parents whom they reject? i dont' know what created them.. but i hope that's all my generation has to offer the conservative party. perhaps it bodes well for the future. but perhaps it does not. i guess i don't really know.

rock. rock on.
friday morning again. i was surprised to find my pay had been deposited into my bank account this morning. which is awesome. tootally awesome. everyone loves to be surprised by a two week paycheck unexpectedly. i guess that's redundant. you don't expect surprises. kind of like not expecting a tax refund and then getting one.. but i won't be getting any tax refund.. no way no how. nope. though i paid thousands in clinic rent in 2005 with almost no return on that, so who knows. aren't taxes more fun with a sole prop? the answer is decidedly yes.
so yesterday my team at P-ville had some fun team-building communication training. it was good bonding. today we have an employee appreciation foodathon. every time the foodathon comes up at work Darci calls it "eat[ing] food and be[ing] jerks" because she enjoys being a jerk. so i am anticipating more good times to come. because seriously, jerks are fun.

gross negligence
I know i've been irregular about my posting lately, and what i have done is phoned-in.. but here's something that passes for amusing in the young Jackson household.
Brett: (watching the new charlie and the chocolate factory) I like this music.
Cat: who is this? is it danny elfman?
Brett: of course it's danny elfman..
Cat: well, i wasn't gonna just say 'this is danny elfman.' like that.
Brett: But it's obviously him.. *I'm* comfortable declaring that it's his music.
Cat: That's because you're pompous.
