something

SO that's how to get me to post.. 3 commments at once. ok. so.. three things to reply to. i think that's all. yes. so to Malison, who was gassy. i hope you are not still gassy. this is a trouble.

To Shannon, i dont' think it was too much info to know that malison was gassy. i mean i say stuff like that all the time.

To Aaron, How could i not say something back. . because really. those were some really good answers.

so here:

2. Oddly enough, i think of dancer in teh dark, which you aptly described as emotional pornography, which I still find most concise. So even though i don't care for the movie, i enjoy remembering your comment.
3. i love pudding. but for you i would think of those delicious lefsa (sp?) dealies. so simple. so tasty.
4. yes. exactly. that's all i can say. exactly
5. My first memory (and likely it was not really when i met you) was when we all drove to spokompton to see juan pepe and we talked about philip glass and TMBG in the car. that was most excellent.
6. you remind me of another bird.. that egyption ibis one i think.
7. (i've been interested in alternative medicine of multiple varieties since i was introduced to chiropractic as a very small child--though my first actually adjustment wasn't until i was 11--and it just sort of expanded from there.. )
for you: How did you discover all that music? when did it start? and who pushed you there?
8.. .. i'll make demands. DEMANDS.. no. nevermind. i'll go to sleep.. no. it's too early. bleh.

My discovery of music is fueled by many different things. It sort of depends on which style. Pop music is fueled by radio and recommendations. Jazz is fueled by reading jazz history books and jotting down names and digging up CD's in the library. Classical music comes from playing piano, and just getting into some of the composers. Most of it I would guess comes from conversations like you and I have, and we start sharing the musical love and I get introduced to awesomeness.

For a while in college, i would buy a jazz CD (I was in a big time jazz phase) and then jot down every performers name that backed up the lead guy, and dig up their solo projects. I started with Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" which is a GREAT place to start when you play that game... I found many of my favorite CD's playing tha game.

Lately it's fueled by getting to DJ at the student radio station once a week before the sun rises... It's tiring, and I end up sleeping till noon when I'm done, but I get to go "Hmmm... I wonder what that is!" and throw it on... sadly I find more stuff not to my taste than I do stuff that rules my world.
