damnit
so here's tonight's rant. because i'm back to that. the pope is all over the news. it's making me very irritated. this man is the one man i said prior to the old pope's death that i never wanted to see as pope. for a non-catholic i'm very well informed on some of these things. anyway. Cardinal Ratzinger is horrible and leans toward authoritarian.. starting out that trend with an early involvement with the hitler youth, and then continuing on to become a very conservative official in the church.. his former office that of the doctrine of the faith, was called the office of the holy inquisition before this.. (yes.. THAT inquisition)... i'm not pleased.. but perhaps the horrors of having this man lead catholics everywhere will make people see the dumbth in having one person tell you all what to do.. i doubt it though.. because humans are innately dumb. especially me.

Well... ya got trouble my friend... Wait, no, you're not Catholic. So you don't really got trouble. And neither am I, so I don't really either. That being said:
Conservative waves have historically preceded periods of great change, so let's hold on to our hats (stand up if we must), and ride this one through. And be glad he didn't name himself John Paul III, 'cause that'd be just silly. Downright I tell you.
thank you Pepe for making me feel better.. you can always be counted on to put things in perspective. for instance, right now Cat is sitting in the recliner, eating mac'n'cheese (the purple box, with the bunny on it, you know) and the little kitten is laying on the top of the chair.. and the movie on the tv is: yep, you guessed it-- Mansquito.. so everything's gonna be alright. nothiing has really changed.. an old pope is gone, and a slightly younger one has replaced him, after a lifetime of dubious deeds. think of the irony, previous pope, victim of nazi aggression.. current pope, nazi youth. though both believed in a black and white world full of polar opposites and clearly right vs. clearly wrong.. . ... i wonder if people who become pope have young or old souls.. i would expect the very old souls would refrain from telling people what to do.. on such a global scale.. who knows.
