interesting thing

i learned today of a website which lists the causes of large amounts of casualties throughout history, and the thing that stood out to me was the prominence of 'voluntary' losses of life in the upper reaches of the list. for instance: the battle of somme in world war one had over a million casualties. and generally you find natural disasters fairly low on the list. my point would be this: people really do the job effectively. that is to say that mostly we destroy each other for whatever stupid reason, money, religion, machismo.. whatever; more than we are destroyed by natural processes. obviously, if the million people at that battle who died were never involved in any war at all they would of course have died of something else.. i don't know what. but we all die. now it seems that there are some really grotesque ways to die. i guess being turned inside out by the bad kind of aliens is one of those.. so we all die. that's fine. we can live a life free of fear of being murdered by other people.. maybe in absence of that fear we could make some of those other things that cause us to die go away too, like a bunch of those diseases. ... accidents and natural disasters will always be a problem.. and alien mutilations. well, untill the mutilating aliens figure out what there is to know about our bits.. then they'll quit it.. and the less evolved aliens will probably attempt to enslave us, but we could possibly get saved by the enlightened aliens and then we can get a little better. with not being enslaved.. does anyone out there ever wonder if there are aliens out there who can motor around in space but have the mentality of 19th century (western civilization) earthlings? do you? i worry that there are.. and they are a terrible scourge on the rest of the universe.. worse yet, what if they're 20th century earthings? (i won't assume this 21st century is going to be rich in atrocities as it is so far, i think it can only get better... i hope..) .. .... so right.. next time someone wants to make war on humans let them remember the alien mutilations... and then take a good long look in the mirror. and then aliens should come and mutilate them before they can convince other stupid humans to do their evil bidding.

Our wars are merely warmups for inevitable conflict with aliens. This "voluntary" loss of life, as you term it, strengthens us for conquest. Those alien bastards are going to wish they had mutilated every one of us when we come knocking on their planetary door with shiny new weaponry and a warrior ethic cultivated over the millenia. SUMBITCHES!

I would hope that aliens who have technology beyond our own to knock on our celestial doors would be sufficiently evolved socially to not be of the mindset of 19th or 20th century occidental earthlings.
Happy New Year!

You should go look at our blog and you should link it on your site and you should write something in it and you should comment more often on my blog so I can laugh at your comments just like you laughed at mine. Four things you should do, methinks, by the end of the weekend. I'll call you Saturday night; I leave Sunday. This is in response to your phone message btw :)
